League Rules
1Game Format
- Normal 5v5 hockey (plus goalies)
- Ice starts with a 50-minute running clock
- 3-minute warm up and the game should start by 45-minutes
- 1-minute half-time break called at the referee's discretion. Do not switch sides
- Individual players may only score 3 goals per game. Subsequent goals will not be counted
2Penalties & Conduct
Penalties are given at the sole discretion of the referee. Referees may make modifications to the rules to ensure a fun and safe game. Referee decisions are final and will not be debated.
No contact: Stay in control, match your intensity to each opponent, and play the puck. Incidental contact may occur, but accidental penalties still count.
International crease rule: If an attacking player enters the goal crease and does not leave immediately, the referee may stop the play and the subsequent face-off shall take place at the nearest neutral zone dot.
Icing: Until the final 5 minutes of the game, icing is called only if the icing team is first to play the puck; if the defending team gets a proper chance to play the puck, then icing is waived. In the final 5 minutes, icing is automatic. Repeated icing by the leading team gives the opponent a penalty shot.
No slapshots: The backswing of all shots (and fakes) must clearly remain below the hips
NHL High Sticking the Puck: Whistled down for a face-off if the offending player touches the puck with their stick above their shoulders and that team plays it first
Delay of Game: No penalty unless it's deemed intentional
Penalties are 3 running-minutes long.
Two game ejections for any individual during a single season will automatically trigger a league membership review; there will be no refunds.
